Welcome to your new favourite hang in Old Montreal.

The recently opened restaurant, helmed by JEGantic CEO John E. Gumbley in collaboration with Kaje Kandiah and Marylyn Tran—the owner of Tran Cantine—takes its name from Tran's mother of Pho Tay Ho (the famous eaterie on Saint-Denis Street in Montreal).

The restaurant’s design—a partnership between Gumbley and Italo Di Pietro, of Anonymus Concepts—features over-the-top design elements that mimic the dense greenery of Da Nang's jungle.

Expect an immersive experience that brings together Vietnamese cuisine, sophisticated cocktails and a breathtaking atmosphere.

Highlights from the elevated menu include a beef salad (raw beef, onions, sawtooth coriander, rice paddy herbs, lime, fresh chili and peanuts), truffle, bone marrow and wagyu soup and a banh mi sandwich made with foie gras.

And we haven’t even talked about the cocktails.

Doubling as an upscale cocktail lounge, Hang’s mixologists marry Vietnamese spices and ingredients to create addictive sippers like the gin lychee martini (Bombay East, Saint-Germain, lychee, fresh Tia To, green pepper and red magic).

There will also be a DIY experience where guests can create their own specialty cocktail.

In a city home to secret rooftop restaurants, hidden bars and some of the best restaurants and famous watering holes in the country, Hang is a welcome new kid on the block.
