While most might wait until NYE this time of year to pop and sip bubbly, the W Hotel in downtown Montreal is asking: Why wait?
Running from now until February 2022, the luxury digs teamed up with Moët & Chandon to host two bubbly things to check out this winter. On one side, they've put up a 'champagne box' you can reserve, a glass-enclosed private tasting room for groups of up to six people at a time to taste three signature cuvées, in addition to the first-ever hotel in Quebec to host a Moët & Chandon champagne vending machine—you know, for champagne drinkers on the go.
"The Champagne Box is an ephemeral, intimate and private tasting space with a maximum capacity of 6 people, laid out under the theme of effervescence," the event reads on the OpenTable reservation page. "Whether it is to celebrate the end of the year or to mark a special occasion such as a birthday, the Champagne Box gives rise to a tasting of three emblematic cuvées from Moët & Chandon."
The champagne box experience lasts one hour and costs $95 before taxes and service per person, which includes three glasses for tasting: The Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut, the Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut Rosé, and the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Brut (or Rosé) from 2013. Note that full payment is required when booking.
It's all part of the hotel’s “Ready to Celebrate” theme, the collaboration that feature those two deluxe experiences, one of which includes giving guests that are staying in the hotel's WOW and EWOW suites complimentary tokens redeemable for two 200-millilitre bottles of the French fine winery luxury goods company's Brut Impérial.
While the champagne pop-up (pun intended) extends beyond New Year's Eve, the hotel's Ready to Celebrate thematics extend into an actual New Year's Eve party: The hotel's Italian-inspired Tbsp. restaurant is putting together a three-course 'Festa' menu with an informal tasting setup while DJ Nico De Andrea performs live.
The Moët & Chandon champagne box experience at the W Hotel (901 rue du Square-Victoria) can be reserved through OpenTable here, and tickets to the New Year's Eve party can be found on OpenTable here.
