The Quebec government announced on Sunday that it asked the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) to remove all American products from its shelves.

The directive, in response to Trump’s tariffs, impacts wine and other alcoholic beverages available in stores and on the SAQ’s website.

The SAQ has also been instructed to stop supplying agencies, grocery stores, restaurants and bars with American alcoholic beverages.

These changes may take a few days to be fully implemented, according to the government.

Quebec Premier François Legault has warned that Quebec businesses will be adversely affected by the U.S. tariffs and and warned more than 100,000 jobs could be lost.
