Just when we thought the pandemic was going to stop us from going to Christmas markets, it looks like events will be able to proceed as planned for the holidays after all, starting with Montreal’s Christmas Village at Atwater Market this weekend and every weekend after that until December 20th.

The pandemic's not hampering the size and scope of the Christmas market's fifth edition, either: Over 50 different vendors selling cosmetics, food, closthing, gift ideas like decor and jewelry and take out food will be sharing the collection of kiosks through the entire space over the four-week duration of the village, so no one weekend's visit will be the same.

Even though the event is taking place outside, anyone who is aged 12 and over must wear a mask inside the Village's area. According to the organizing body's website, the layout this year has been designed in such a way to ensure social distancing between attendants, and hand sanitization stations will be located at every entrance.

The only thing you'll need to know: It's probably best to use public transportation to get there, as parking is going to be crazy limited on the streets of Saint-Henri and the parking lot for the Super C and SAQ across the street from Atwater Market.
