The Beer Bar at Time Out Market Montréal is putting the spotlight on another one of our favourite local microbreweries in October: Champ Libre.
In 2017, the idea of opening a brewery and distillery was born to Patrick Cool, Yves Taillon and Thibaut Huchet. Mercier, Quebec, became the chosen home for Champ Libre and they haven’t looked back since.
What makes Champ Libre so special?
It’s all in the name. The word champ (meaning “field”) is a nod to Mercier’s agricultural heritage—and exploring new (beer and spirits) horizons—while libre references the freedom involved in Champ Libre’s creative process.
The end result is clear: Innovative craft beer that is different from anything else out there.
When are the free tastings at Time Out Market Montréal?
Don’t miss the official tasting day on Wednesday, October 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Time Out Market's Beer Bar (one of six bars under one roof at Time Out Market Montréal) where you can hang out with the brand ambassador during happy hour, and soak up their know-how with snacks from some of the best chefs and restaurants in the city while sipping on Champ Libre’s latest brew.
Make sure to stop by the expanded retro arcade and try the new Mario Kart Arcade GP!
What beers will be available at the Market?
Champ Libre will be spotlighting three unique beers in October:
Princesse Guerrière (a blanche wheat beer infused with rose petals )
Rio de Janeiro (an IPA with Brazil-inspired flavours like amburana wood, guava, acai berry and passion fruit)
1840 (a blonde ale made with Quebec barley malt, Quebec wheat, Mittelfruh and Saaz hops and yeast ale)
Every month, a local microbrewery is invited to offer a selection of its best products at Time Out Market Montréal’s Beer Bar. For more information about Champ Libre, click here.
