We may have got to ring in a new year, but we all know the pandemic is far from over. With the announcement of a second complete lockdown in Montreal on the horizon, we're not sure when we'll be able to see a good live rock show ever again.
Lucky us: This Thursday, the live rock bar L'Escogriffe has pulled together a line-up of 20 artists that will be playing a live two-hour show for free from 8pm to 10pm. The announcement's been made through Facebook, where they'll be posting the live feed (or directions to watch the live feed elsewhere).
If you don't know L'Escogriffe, you should: It's part of four establishments that make up L'Axe du Mal, a huge combo of venues found at the corner of Saint-Denis Street and Mont-Royal Avenue in the Plateau (and a perfect bar-hopping spot).
L’Escogriffe has been a generally more intimate rock-oriented venue with local and touring bands, so this upcoming show's selection of artists will be complimenting that with a couple surprises. Here's the list of artists:
Thanks to the creativity of local artists and venues like this, we know we can stay entertained—at least in part—during the coming closure of the city and a sharp curfew on our comings and goings.
