[title]
It was one of the most beautiful things to happen to Montreal last year, and it came right when we needed a little something to forget that 2020 totally blew chunks: A huge terrasse across from Parc La Fontaine serving poutine from La Banquise and beers from Pit Caribou. What else could you want?
The center of the summer universe in Montreal can officially be found in the Plateau: If La Fontaine's weekly picnic parties that looked more like mini music festivals in attendance and debauchery is the cake, consider this returning project to be the cherry on top.
Now, if you spent a Friday or Saturday getting blotto in the park, you can return for round two to heal what ails you with this one-stop-shop: Access to the full menu of La Banquise—no limitations—and a revolving set of taps from a top-tier microbrewery across the street. Take a look:
Here's the kicker: After seeing a hearty welcome from Montrealers (and likely Quebecers who likely traveled to town just to get a taste of this experience), the terrasse is staying open longer than it had last season, running from Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.—that's mercifully longer than last time, and it's perfect for anyone who needs to repair some damage or just dig in to some of the best poutine in Montreal with some of the best beer in Montreal.
La Banquise and Pit Caribou's poutine and beer garden is found at the corner of Rachel and Parc La Fontaine Avenue, open Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
