It's official: Following its huge reformatting for Halloween that lasted until November 1, Laval's giant light show Illumi is now selling tickets until January 2021. That means a massive light show to go check out and get out into the holiday spirit with as many as 15 million individual lights shining across hundreds of thousands of sculptures in a 1 million square-foot lot.

It's just in time, too: Christmas is definitely on the way and Montrealers need reasons to get out of the house more than ever. As the Quebec Premier François Legault expects that mental health will be more important than ever as the red zone restrictions in Montreal and elsewhere continue, Illumi provides a good reason to get in the car and enjoy something a little brighter than the continually diminishing sunlight over the city.

If you missed out on the Halloween festivities, no worries: Illumi's even better during Christmas—and it's been running annually during the holiday season anyway. This year's edition is three times the size of the last, and is unique in how it can be experienced as a drive-thru in order to accommodate the demands of social distancing.

To date, no big details on the Christmas setup has been unveiled, but they'll likely be shifting out the pumpkins and ghosts for smoething a little more festive and hivernal. The new three-kilometre route the lot features still intends to show off a total of 17 scenes to explore.

They also have an ongoing contest where you can have a house decorated:
