I went to Montreal’s winter dog parade and it was even more adorable than I thought

Montreal pet care organization Pawsome Concierge hosted a winter edition of their famous summer dog parade and it was a pawty.

Calling all dog lovers, there’s a new dog parade in town!

I headed over to Saint-Henri this afternoon to catch a glimpse of the Pawsome dog parade, which promised dog yoga, workshops, prizes and free hot chocolate.

(It’s no wonder Saint-Henri was recently voted one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.)

Montreal knows how to do summer dog parades, but I didn't know what to expect in February.

I spotted the giant heated dome in Sir-Georges-Étienne-Cartier Square first, which was filled with vendors and free hot chocolate.

After grabbing a hot chocolate with marshmallows and some maple taffy outside, we wandered around, checking out the different dog costumes.

Our favourites: two Norfolk terriers in matching black and white ensembles, and a Dalmatian wearing a firefighter yellow jacket.

The parade kicked off at around 1:15 p.m., with hundreds of dogs and dog owners in attendance.

Everyone lined up to have their photo taken, with some canines behaving better than others.

Staff from Pawsome Concierge holding flags led the charge, walking west along Notre Dame street west before turning down Sir-Georges-Étienne-Cartier street and eventually rounding the square.

It was one of the best free things happening in the city, so make sure to check back for the summer edition.
