Who’s ready for a day trip? With all the amazing things to do in and around Montreal, hiking (in any season) should be at the top of your list.
This hidden footbridge located inside one of our favourite parks is accessible all year round, and is one of the longest in Quebec.
Spanning 500 metres, the boardwalk allows visitors to walk on water as they observe the diverse wildlife and vegetation (calling all birdwatchers!) throughout the sprawling marshland.
Parc-nature du Bois-de-l'île-Bizard stretched across 216 hectares, with magical wooded areas, direct access to Lac des Deux-Montagnes and stunning marshland.
It’s also home to a visitors chalet, a child-friendly little beach with shallow water, and trails suitable for cross-country skiing, cycling, and leisurely strolls. Bonus: it's built for two-way traffic.
Want to learn more about the area's flora and fauna? Educational presentations are scheduled year-round.
How do I find the hidden footbridge?
Access the park from the entrance on Chemin Bord-du-Lac and look for a crushed stone trail that will lead you to the 500-metre footbridge.

Keep your eyes peeled for beavers, turtles and ducks. And as the weather gets warmer, take advantage of the chance to go canoeing or swimming.
Time Out Tip: The spring and fall are prime times to observe the migration of the Canada geese and other birds along the shore.
