Buy a friend that will quietly listen to you, take your home décor game up a notch, get yourself a new hobby—whatever it is, a plant provides, and the upcoming sale tomorrow at downtown Montreal's Leaves House Café (1800 Mcgill College Avenue) should provide you with an inexpensive option while donating to charity on December 19 (tomorrow!) from 10am to 6pm.

They'll have 75 plants to choose from, varying from the rare to tropical, plus succulents, moss, and a bunch of equipment to keep your new buddy/buddies happy and healthy. Seeing as it's located inside Leaves House Café, there will be vegan food, product and coffee as well.

The café will be holding a holiday market with other local vendors, artists, and collectors in an effort to riase money for the Greenhound Canada Foundation which "develops public and accessible botanical gardens and dedicated spaces in urban areas for people in Canada" for the sake of mental well-being and mental health awareness.

Leaves House Café will be joined by the artist collective MTLA Studio, the homesteading and sustainable equipment of Urban Homestead Montreal, handmade items from Montreal Creations Boutique, work by the Montreal artist Dorothee St-Jean, even more plants (plus macrame hangers for that boho chic look) from Les Filles Plantées, and live bugs Coleopterra Boutique—and we're not joking about that last one.

"Feel free to contact us if you would like to join our circle of community partners," Leaves House Café wrote in the Facebook event listing for the holiday market, "to help us fundraise and have access to sell your items in our physical and online store locations." If you're a local maker looking to get your stuff out there, this is a good place to start.
