Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected, and today is going to be a doozy.
According to Environment Canada, Montreal should expect up to 80 millimetres of rainfall today.
The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall, which means localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
And with the mild temperatures causing the snow to melt, we should expect the runoff to raise the water level of some rivers.
Montrealers should keep an eye out for fog patches that may accompany the rain.
