The Beer Bar at Time Out Market Montreal is featuring another one of our favorite local microbreweries in September: Brasserie Harricana.
What makes Brasserie Harricana so special?
Brasserie Harricana introduced high-quality microbrewery beer to the Mile-Ex neighborhood of Montreal in December 2014. Their success prompted the company to change direction in 2017, transitioning from a craft brewery to an industrial license.
The summer of 2017 marked the beginning of their beer distribution. Located in a beautiful spot on the border of Little Italy and Mile-Ex, Brasserie Harricana was designed as a cozy neighborhood microbrewery, where they brew epic house beers—earning them a spot on our list of the best bars in Montreal.
The beer recipes are developed under the supervision of the Director of Brewing Operations and Partner, Francis Richer. His diligence ensures the creation of authentic beers that are true to each chosen style. The beers are brewed using a traditional method that maximizes the quality of ingredients, following strict protocols that ensure consistent freshness.
We're talking about classic, traditional, and historical style beers; beers enhanced with special ingredients or techniques outside a typical style; barrel-aged beers, as well as hybrid fermentation or experimental beers.
Brasserie Harricana also has strong ties to the world of sports. Founder and CEO, Marie-Pier Veilleux, had a high-level basketball career, while her father, co-founder of the original Brasserie Harricana, had a career as a professional hockey player.
The numbers on the labels have been designed as a nod to jerseys. Each beer has its number chosen
by the person who inspired the beer.
