It’s official: Mile End—the fun-filled pocket north of Mont-Royal Avenue that’s home to some of the city’s world-famous institutions and most talked about new spots—was ranked the 5th coolest neighbourhood in the world.

Time Out published the Time Out Index with a list of 51 of the coolest neighbourhoods across the globe, but Mile End’s spot in the top 5 comes as a surprise to absolutely no one living in Montreal.

For a city that is famous for so many things, Mile End’s mecca of best bakeries, best restaurants, best bars and best times is well-established. And Time Out Market Montréal—located in the Eaton Centre downtown—gathers the best chefs, restaurants and unique cultural experiences in the city under one roof, bringing that cool factor to the heart of the city.

Here are our favourite ways to enjoy the best of Mile End at Time Out Market Montréal:

1. Pasta to Die For

Il Miglio—the well-known Mile End staple—is famous for being one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Their outpost at Time Out Market Montréal serves up fresh pasta (and seasonally based dishes of antipasti) in addictively delicious ways. Cue the ultimate comfort food with sumptuous gnocchi and the veal meatballs, or extend your summer a little longer with the fresh burrata salad.

2. Culture Club

Mile End is one of the city’s cultural hubs thank to back-to-back festivals and performances, and Time Out Market Montréal is no different. There’s always something going on, whether it’s a drag brunch, a free weekend activity for kids (magicians, anyone?) or an immersive artistic experience like Cabaret Croquis. Time Out Market has joined forces with LNDMRK on October 18 to gather 10 local artists under one roof to transform food trays into works of art for a must-see mini-festival.

3. Pint-sized Fun

One of the pioneers of the now-massive Quebec microbrewery industry, Dieu du Ciel! has consistently pushed the envelope when it comes to superior, innovative microbrews. With brewpubs in Mile End and Saint-Jérôme, pints of Dieu du Ciel! are also being pulled in the Beer bar at downtown's Time Out Market Montréal.

4. Game Time

Mile End’s Ping Pong Club is a popular spot for pitchers of cocktails and table tennis, and while Time Out Market Montréal isn’t home to a ping pong table (yet…), fun and games are on the menu. The Market’s retro arcade features Mario Kart Arcade GP, Super Chexx Pro NHL Edition, Pac-Man's Arcade Party, classic pinball machines, a photo booth to document all the memories and—wait for it—Pong Arcade.
