What makes Benelux so special?
Benelux, the first bar to open in Verdun, is a Montreal-based microbrewery with Belgian influences.
From 1875 to 2013, Verdun was a dry town where bars were banned, and alcohol could only be served with food, but a legal loophole allowed Benelux to open as a microbrewery in 2013.
Now a well-established local brewery with locations in Montreal and Quebec City, Benelux’s Wellington Street branch, set in a historic former bank, combines industrial design with a spacious 180-seat terrace for summer enjoyment.
Benelux’s pubs offer a relaxed atmosphere with sprawling terraces where you can enjoy house-brewed Belgian-style craft beers alongside a simple menu of sausages and paninis.
Everything deserves a taste, from pilsners and hefeweizens to milkshake IPAs, so it's recommended you go for a flight.
Head to Benelux for the karaoke, comedy nights, open mic, and quiz nights, and leave with some take-home beers.

Don't miss the official tasting day on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM, at the Beer Bar at Time Out Market Montréal (one of the 7 bars in the Market).

What beers will be available at the Market?
The following three Benelux beers will be available at Time Out Market Montréal this month:
Gertrude
German Pilsner
This German-inspired Pilsner will quench your thirst with its effervescence and crisp malt flavour. The noble German hops bring herbal, floral, and slightly spicy notes that perfectly complement the malty sweetness, creating a well-balanced and refreshing finish.
Frida
Raspberry Wheat Beer
A crisp, dry, and refreshing summer beer that combines the tart qualities of raspberries and wheat to create a deep red, hazy, and fruity brew.
Cuda
West Coast IPA
This West Coast-inspired IPA gets its bold bitterness from Amarillo, Simcoe, and Centennial hops, complemented by a pronounced malt character.
