If this is your first time hearing of Alambika, then you're missing out. The boutique specializes in bar accessories and cocktail sets that supply more restaurants in Canada than you can shake a stick at, in addition to offering services that range from business card design to bar staff training.
The cocktail shop's laboratory located on Beaubien at the border that separates Mile-Ex and Little Italy is a pop-up bar that's open to both the public and both private and corporate events. Given the exceptional nature of the quarantine's effect on the restaurant and bar scene in the city, Alambika's owner Jean-Sébastien has begun finding collaborators in his own backyard to pair the best food offerings with his business' best drinking practices: Starting tomorrow, that project begins with the restaurant Le Diplomate.
Anyone who's ever nabbed a table at Le Diplomate knows its chef Aaron Langille is only slowly opening his dining room. His restaurant's flip to takeout since the beginning of the pandemic has resulted in a fried Korean pancake sandwich we can't get enough of, and now they'll be available at Alambika for a limited time: From Thursday to Saturday between 5 pm and 8 pm, people will be able to order the sandwiches and salads offered by Le Diplomate via their phone alongside cocktails within the spacious setting of the bar.

Kalina Cesar (known for work at Marconi, Hôtel Herman, and Club Chasse et Pêche) and her team of mixologists are set to push the collaboration even further by creating special cocktails in accordance with the dishes.
While the dishes will be served on biodegradable plates, the cocktails will be nicely presented in blown glassware "worthy of the great hotels in France," explains Jean-Sébastien. Over time, a few exclusive items will be added to the menu including an ice cream bar from their other neighbor, the État de choc chocolate factory.
