Check out this huge sale of 30,000 books and CDs at the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec

The sale in in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has books and CDs that are going for anywhere from $10 for pristine titles to $1 apiece.

Can you remember the last time you paid a visit to a book sale in Montreal?

We can't, and that's why the huge weekend sale of 30,000 books and CDs at the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie is all the more welcome. According to the BaNQ's post about the sale, only books and CDs in excellent condition are for sale, ranging anywhere from $1 to $10 for especially pristine titles.

A couple things to keep in mind: It's been happening since August 25 (so the pickings may be slimmer by now) and will last until August 28. It is happening rain or shine in front of the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec (2275 rue Holt); just make sure to bring bags and know that it's cash only! Free parking is available for anyone who plans to drive there.

Here's the listed prices for novels, children's books, comics, and more:

  • $1: Novels and bundles of children's books (0-8 years old) and children's books (9 years old and over);
  • $2: Books and albums for children (0-8 years old), children's books (9 years old and over), comics and manga (children and adults), biographies, documentaries, poetry, theater, history, food, leisure, travel, methods language learning, single or double CDs (classical, jazz and popular music);
  • $3 or $5 : Dictionaries, sets of books from the "La Pléiade" collection, beautiful coffee table style books, CD boxes (classical and jazz)
  • $10: "Exceptional" books.

The sale is happening at the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec (2275 rue Holt) on August 25, 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
and on August 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Full details can be found here.
