Pack your bags: Air Canada is expanding its European network with new routes from Montreal.

While we all know Montreal is chock full of some of the best things to do around, especially during festival season or when fall’s food truck events, Asian night markets and Oktoberfests are popping up all over town, a getaway is also always a good idea.

Want to take your road trip up a notch? Starting next summer, travellers can look forward to direct flights from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to two new European bucket list destinations.

What new routes are Air Canada adding?

According to reports, the two new European routes from Montreal are to Naples, Italy, and Porto, Portugal.

Additionally, Air Canada will bring back its service to Prague, Czech Republic, from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), a route that has been missing from the airline’s offerings for over five years.

When will they start?

The Montreal to Naples flights will begin on May 16, 2025, with four weekly services aboard Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

The Montreal to Porto route will launch on June 4, 2025, also operating four times per week but with 737-8 aircraft.

Currently, Air Canada operates flights to three Italian destinations—Rome, Venice, and Milan—from Montreal and Toronto.

The new Montreal-Naples route will mark Naples-Capodichino International Airport’s fourth direct summer-season connection to North America, joining existing services by American Airlines from Philadelphia, Delta Air Lines from New York JFK, and United Airlines from Newark.

In Portugal, Air Canada’s service to Porto will complement its existing flights to Lisbon (home to Time Out Market Lisbon, which just celebrated its 10 year anniversary), where it currently offers daily service from Toronto and six weekly flights from Montreal.

Air Canada plans to resume seasonal flights from Toronto to Prague starting June 6, 2025, through late September, with three weekly flights on 787-8 aircraft.

This route will reconnect Prague to Air Canada’s network after a hiatus since 2019.
