This popular food festival and cultural event is back!
We’re celebrating Japan and its famous street food at YATAI MTL until June 11, 2023. The four-day celebration of Japan and its street food is being held at a new location this year: Les Quais at Bassin Peel in Griffintown.
Get ready to discover 15 culinary booths and more than 20 merchants and exhibitors of Japanese products.
Expect lots of activities, as well as a cultural program that’s said to attract over 25,000 enthusiasts and curious visitors.
What’s on the menu? Dig into street food dishes like Karaage fried chicken, ramen, Takoyaki, Okonomiyakis and Yakitoris, for starters. Plus Japanese products such as kimonos and traditional accessories, ecological bento boxes, art prints, handmade ceramics and more!
Festival-goers can quench their thirst at the Bistro SAQ with a selection of the finest sake (and several members of the Saké Québec Association will be on site to serve their selections).
Montrealers will also be able to discover Asahi beer—Japan's most popular brand—as well as sake and Suntory whisky cocktails.
Make sure you catch these not-to-be-missed events: A stylish shiba and akita gathering and contest on Saturday June 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.; a Japanese 80's disco party on Saturday June 10 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and a piano concert of film music from Studio Ghibli on Sunday June 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Last but not least, all dogs are welcome!
