What happens when the holiday train stops?
Once the train safely stops in the designated town, the door of the stage car lowers and the artists perform their first song. Representatives from the local food bank and other dignitaries will give a short presentation on stage, and the artists continue the show with modern themed songs, original and popular pieces, as well as holiday classics.
After the final song, the door of the covered car closes, and the train heads off to its next stop.
What is the holiday train?
Since its first journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised over $24.3 million and collected approximately 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks across Canada and the United States.
The Holiday Train brings people together in the spirit of the holidays across Canada and the United States while providing essential support to neighbours facing hunger by restocking local food banks.
