Get ready, Montreal: Your latest and greatest culinary and cultural hub Time Out Market Montréal will be opening tomorrow in the Centre Eaton de Montréal (705 rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, niveau 1)! It’s been years of planning and editorial curation in the making, where 16 eateries, three bars, a cooking school, a demonstration kitchen, a retail shop full of locally sourced products as well as arts and culture activations will be spread out across a 40,000-square-foot space (with a massive skylight in the center, natch). Suffice to say, we’re excited to finally open the doors on this project and there are lots of reasons to go.

The mission for Time Out Market Montreal is simple: Editors experience their city and if they think it is great, it goes into Time Out’s magazine and media; if it’s essential, it goes into the market. The Time Out Market concept began in Lisbon in 2014 and immediately became a massive attraction for Portugal that sees millions of visitors annually. Flash forward five years later, and now Montréal is among the five North American cities—Miami, New York, Boston and Chicago (opening next week) too—to host their own Time Out Market, this one will be the first in Canada.

That’s exactly what we did here in Montréal: Local experts on the city were established as editors of the magazine and set to work tasting and testing chefs and restaurants across the city; only those among the best would be a part of this new market. Now, you get to taste what we’ve spent months assembling under one roof: Cheryl Johnson and Charles Antoine-Crête of Montréal Plaza, Claude Pelletier and Mélanie Blouin of Le Club Chasse et Pêche, Paul Toussaint, Leigh Roper and Vincent Russell, Romados, a new pastry concept from Hof Kelsten—and that doesn’t even scratch half of the surface of what’s in store.

Question is, should we bother asking where you’re going to be tomorrow when the doors on Time Out Market Montréal open to the public for the first time at 8am?
