These tulip fields in Laval and Boucherville are becoming drive-thru experiences

Tulip farms in Boucherville and Laval in the Montreal area will become drive-thru experiences with a bouquet pick-up

Every year, the tulip farms of Tulipes au Volant in Boucherville and Laval in the Montreal area open and offer self-service tulip picking. While the farms will open as planned for the 2020 season, the format's going to be a bit different this time: A drive-thru experience with a no-contact bouquet pick-up.

Running from May 15 to June 6, Montrealers will still have a chance to enjoy this flowery, seasonal activity near the city but should expect it to look a little different. "Due to the exceptional circumstances this year (COVID), we have adapted a new concept for the safety of everyone," the business wrote on its website. "We will be offering a drive through the tulips and pick up. No contact and of course strict hygiene measures will be in place."

Tickets are currently on sale for $20 per vehicle, and gives access to a tulip field drive-thru experience and a bouquet of 30 assorted tulips. While the idea of driving by the fields may not exactly be what Montrealers have in mind for an afternoon filled with flowery rainbows, it should still provide a reason to get out and enjoy warmer temperatures and fresh air.
