After months of closure, the famed Old Montréal restaurant Olive & Gourmando will be reopening to Montrealers soon. Rather than opening its doors, however, it'll be opening its windows to customers with a reduced team and menu so owners Dyan Solomon and Éric Girard can resume serving the city.
"One window will be used for orders that are paid online, while the other will serve people who pass by or simply want to see us," says Solomon.

The new setup will sport one new feature for Olive & Gourmando as the website's turned into a shop for online purchases. The restaurant's book will be on offer alongside homemade granolas, coffee, salad dressings, raw cookie dough to bake at home, and other easy-to-prepare or edible items. It will be fashioned after an online grocery store, Solomon tells Time Out.
As for the dishes and pastries, they'll also be available for take away or to be eaten on the spot. Dishes like its homemade ricotta, sandwiches and salads will be available alongside biscuits, brioches and other baked goods. The plan is for the menu to change from week to week, according to demand.
For now, Montrealers will need to wait until next week for the restaurant to reopen, but when it does, Olive & Gourmando will be open from Thursday to Sunday. As for the online shop, it should be operational at the same time, during next week.
