It will still be some time before we find out the fate of our favourite Montreal festivals that are set to happen this summer. While you’re waiting, rather than biting your nails wondering if those tickets you bought need to be refunded, you might as well enjoy all of the online and broadcasted performances in times of self-isolation.
It’s been a little over two weeks since Canada found itself steadily locking up and hunkering down, but it was only a matter of time until a huge livestreamed concert of this magnitude showed up in our feeds: The iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America, an hour-long special taking place tomorrow night at 9pm EST on, is bringing together a huge lineup that can only be made possible through streaming and broadcast.
You can check it out tomorrow night online via Fox’s network site and on Virgin Radio Montreal. That means that if you can’t watch the concert, you can listen to it live via the radio frequency 95.9FM or listen to the station online.
Paying tribute to medical professionals and first responders on the frontlines of the growing pandemic around the world, viewers and listeners will be encouraged to donate to the charities Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation.
Hosted by Sir Elton John, it’ll be an hour’s worth of performances with a lot of stellar artists: Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, Camila Cabello, H.E.R. and Sam Smith in addition to guest appearances by Ciara, Demi Lovato, Lizzo, Russell Wilson and more.
It’ll only be a matter of time before we start seeing festivals and concerts announce performances along these lines in our own city.
