Sure, we can't go out and experience hospitality par excellence with the best restaurants and best bars in Montreal, but we continue looking to top names in the food and drink scene to give us a taste of the finer things in life. Chefs and bartenders have been taking to Instagram to share ideas, we had Elena releasing a digital cookbook (the purchase of which goes to support the Montreal Restaurant Workers Relief Fund), and now this: The Cloakroom, one of the best cocktail bars in Montreal (and nominated in several international categories at this year's Tales of the Cocktail awards), is releasing how-to tutorials on their Instagram page for essential drinks everyone should know for a swanky night in.

The videos feature the Cloakroom resident Jonas Kempeneers, a vintage spirit-collecting bartender who's worked at spots like Belgium's De Eegel bar and Loch & Key in Melbourne. There's currently two tutorials up right now to watch: The first (released a week ago) features a straightforward dry martini that uses a grapefruit zest:

The second which dropped yesterday demonstrates how to make a Rosita, a bittersweet cousin to the Negroni which uses tequila instead of gin and a couple other tweaks:

The Cloakroom's informed us that the next video will be posted next Thursday, featuring the Too Soon, an exclusive cocktail of the bar's own creation. Cheers, Montreal, and enjoy stocking up with ingredients during you next trip out to the SAQ.
