As we get serious with self-isolation and practice safe social distancing, Montreal’s busiest hubs have been emptying out. Areas of the city that were once full of locals and tourists are now empty, from whole boroughs like Downtown and top attractions like Old Montreal to streets during peak morning and evening rush hours. Even if the Metro remains open, its major crossroads like Berri-UQAM are all but empty. It just goes to show the huge amount of cancellations, closures and postponements in Montreal are taking effect.
There’s a silver lining here, however: These images mean that Montrealers are taking precautions around coronavirus seriously, and we should all be proud of those efforts.
