Your favorite fried chicken sandwich lies awake at night and dreams about Jeremy Ford’s crispy fried chicken sandwich. It sounds like we’re being a bit dramatic—we know—but this thing is a chicken sandwich’s chicken sandwich.
To start, it’s huge. The slab of fried chicken hangs out of the fluffy bun and you can see the cucumber kimchi and lemon aioli hiding inside. This is not one of those fried chicken sandwiches you’re going to finish in ten seconds and then look around for more food. This is a meal.
Another great thing about this puppy: the crunch. We’ve all been duped by soggy fried chicken before but this sandwich is fried perfectly and when you bite into its thick outer shell, the next door neighbors are going to hear it. It’s like a tiny earthquake in your mouth. But underneath the formidable breading you’ll find a tender, juicy piece of chicken waiting. And, thankfully, Ford is not stingy with the cucumber kimchi and lemon aioli—so you might want to grab an extra napkin).
