They’re so freaking good
March 2021: Miami Smokers is no longer at Time Out Market Miami and has since closed.
Welcome to Food Envy, where we’ll highlight different dishes from Time Out Market Miami that we think you’re going to love—partly because we do. This week, we’re drooling over the assorted meat-and-cheese platter from Miami Smokers.

Fellow grazers, we have the dish for you: Miami Smokers’ charcuterie-and-cheese platter. If, like us, you’d rather snack than eat a full meal, this assortment of house-cured meats and artisanal cheeses is delightfully satiating. Andres Barrientos and partner James Bowers smoke every strip and slice served at their USDA-certified facility in Little Havana.
Once it crosses the bridge to the beach, the meat is assembled on china and presented alongside other delicious specialties, such as a buttery BBQ rillette with smoked pork butt that’s whipped and emulsified in bacon fat. There’s also prosciutto and salami, which you’ll want to pair with whole-grain mustard, pickled onions and other accouterments. Though, if we’re being honest, there’s no better pairing for meat than cheese, and this platter offers an array of incredible domestic cheeses—including Barrientos’ personal fave, Mt Tam, Cowgirl Creamery. Dip it in guava jam or pile it on a piece of the sliced Sullivan loaf you’ll get with your order.
There’s no wrong way to dig into this spread, nor is there a wrong time—for a protein-packed lunch, as a shared snack or a light bite to nibble on while you sip a crisp glass of rosé from the Time Out Market Bar. Trust us, we’ve done all three.
