The Doral Yard

It took longer than expected (years, but who’s counting?) but the new Doral Yard is finally open in Downtown Doral. The pedestrian strip is an offshoot of the popular Wynwood Yard that shuttered back in 2019, featuring a handful of food vendors (think healthy della bowls and artisanal popsicles from Paletas Morelia), a central bar and art installations to give passersby something nice to admire. As it stands, the Yard is a pared-down version of what co-creators Della Heiman and Joseph Furst intended, but that’s what the community needs right now. Folks can safely stroll through the promenade, order food and drink for takeout and delivery and take in the sights. There’s covered and ventilated outdoor seating should you decide to dine-in as well. Plans for socially distanced live music performances and additional activations are in the works for the coming months.
