Time Out says

Whether you’re looking for an action-packed, all-day outing or a quick pit-stop on the way to or from Miami Beach, Jungle Island fits the bill for your next family adventure. One of Miami’s oldest tourist attractions (founded in 1936), the iconic eco-park on Watson Island gives guests of all ages a chance to mingle with some of the world’s most rare and adorable animals like lemurs, sloths, kangaroos and tortoises while exploring the property’s many lush habitats. Although $20 million worth of planned renovations are still underway, guests can already experience thrilling new activations like a free-flight wind tunnel that sends you soaring above the Miami skyline and jungle-themed escape rooms. In addition to a new food and beer concept, keep your eyes peeled for future attractions like zip lines, virtual reality and a crystal lagoon.

What’s on

Vinous Icons: Miami 2025

Discover some of the world's finest wines at Vinous Icons: Miami 2025, a two-day tasting event presided over by the experts at Antoni Galloni's leading wine review site, Vinous. Returning for a second year, Vinous brings 100 prestigious wine producers to the Bloom Ballroom at Jungle Island, where guests will sample exceptional pours from Champagne, Bordeaux, Tuscany, Napa and beyond while meeting the visionary winemakers behind each bottle. Each estate will pour two wines, with selections rotating between the Friday and Saturday sessions so you can compare vintages, terroirs and styles. Budding somms can also pop into a variety of masterclasses focusing on standout vintages and regions, from 2021 Barolos and 2022 Napa Valley Cabernets to explorations of South American terroir and New World Chardonnay.

Luminosa: A Festival of Lights

In tandem with the holiday season, Jungle Island's enchanting festival of lights returns for a fourth year with a new production featuring more than 37 monumental, handcrafted silk lantern scenes created by a global team of artisans, graphic designers, seamstresses and more. This year, Luminosa takes visitors on a vibrant trail of themed vignettes representing different ecosystems, from the Amazon rainforest to African savannahs, complete with cutting-edge animatronics, holograms and interactive storytelling. The popular Holiday Village also makes a return this year (through January 4), featuring Christmas trees, holiday treats like churro donut holes and coquito, a seasonal bazaar and a 30-foot Christmas tree centerpiece.  When is Luminosa 2025? Luminosa runs from Friday, November 14 through March 7, 2026. The hours of operation are 5:30 to 9:30pm Sunday through Thursday and until 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday. The Holiday Village will also open on November 14 and run through January 4, 2026. This outdoor experience operates rain or shine, with covered areas available throughout the venue.  How much are tickets? Adult tickets range from $30.78 on weekdays to $46.88 on weekends. Child tickets (ages four to 12) range from $21.58 to $33.08. Family bundles and group rates are available, with discounts for seniors, students and military personnel.
