This third-annual multi-disciplinary festival highlights Black musicians and creatives. For 2024, I Dream A World: Mary Lou's Harlem explores the legacy of the legendary pianist and composer with three weeks of concerts, films and an artifacts exhibit. Festival collaborators include Dr. Tammy Kernodle (University Distinguished Professor of Musicology at Miami University of Ohio) and Grammy Award-nominated pianist Aaron Diehl, among others. The festival will also feature the world premiere of Mary Lou Williams’ “History: A Wind Symphony,” an unfinished and re-orchestrated work recently discovered in the archives at Duke University.
