This multi-year project was created by legendary movement collective, Urban Bush Women, and is premiering at the Historic Hampton House. The show reflects on what has been lost across generations and what can be recovered. Known as the color that Southern families paint their front porches to ward off bad spirits, Haint Blu takes audiences on an immersive dance-theater journey throughout the Hampton House exploring the movements, histories and stories of community elders and ancestors. Seeped in memory and magic, Haint Blu uses performance as a center and source of healing, while taking us through movement into stillness and rest.
