Time Out says

We know, we know. Flowers are a luxury, especially at a time like this. But if you can spare the cash, treating yourself or a loved one to some flowers is not only a sweet way to spread a bit of sunshine but also a great way to support local businesses. One of our favorite Miami flower shops, Calma, is getting extra crafty in the age of coronavirus by offering a brand new virtual flower workshop. For $100, you’ll receive a kit with one small vase, shears, flowers to build your arrangement, chicken wire and a floral recipe, plus live-streamed group instruction.

On the morning of March 27, the Calma crew will personally deliver kits to everyone who has pre-ordered (only open to residents of Miami-Dade County). To minimize contact, kits will be left on your doorstep. Once you receive your package, attendees are advised to place flowers in water while waiting for the workshop to begin. Led by Calma owner Elizabeth Jaime, the workshop will go live via Instagram at 7:30pm and last around 30 minutes. We can’t think of a lovelier way to spend a Friday night in quarantine than pouring ourselves a big glass of wine and flowering with friends over the internet! (If for any reason the workshop cannot move forward, participants will be fully refunded.)
