Ask anyone who spends time downtown and they’ll tell you a sandwich shop is a no-brainer business for Miami’s urban center. But it wasn’t until Danny Serfer and his partners (also of Blue Collar and Mignonette) opened Vinaigrette that the area finally got the sub spot it deserved. Housed inside the historic Dupont building, the restaurant specializes in classic, made-to-order American sandwiches made with high-quality Italian deli meats and cheeses—from 18-month imported prosciutto and Calabrian salami to Scamorza and truffled pecorino. The menu is split into four sections—classics, Italian specialties, vegetarian and salads. Each allows you to customize the proteins, vessel (so many bread options, like the 8-inch sesame roll), toppings and, of course, that delicious namesake sauce, which we could just drink straight out of the bottle.
