Housed in the gorgeously restored Art Deco hotel COMO Metropolitan Miami Beach, Traymore by Michael Schwartz combines the multiple hitmaking chef’s passion for fresh, clean Floridian flavors with bright Asian influences inspired by boutique hotelier Christina Ong’s Singaporean roots. The breezy space decked out in polished terrazzo, creamy marble, tropical foliage, scalloped archways and oversize globe lighting complements an equally as buoyant menu. Highlights include the lobster stuffed zucchini blossoms with lemon preserves ($20), beef carpaccio with heart of palm, kohlrabi, peanuts and burnt lime vinaigrette ($19) and wok-charred salmon with sprouts, pumpkin seeds and soy vinaigrette ($29) all plated with precision on elegant, minimalistic earthenware. For drinks, the restaurant’s Sling Bar is a worthy destination on its own. Stop in during happy hour (daily 4–7pm), when unexpected, ingredient-forward cocktails like the Smoke Not Mirrors (mezcal, roasted barley shochu, dry curacy, lime, pineapple and shiso) go for a very cool $7.
