Serafina Miami

A fancy Italian restaurant befitting of Aventura Mall’s shiny new wing, Serafina Miami is Florida’s only location of the famed New York City restaurant (one of the few pasta-centric spots carb-phobic celebs actually frequent). And there’s plenty in the way of starch here, including an assortment of stuffed focaccia, more than one type of Margherita pizza—price and quality dictated by the type of tomato—and pasta in various sauces. Though most people who go to Serafina Miami, at least at first, do so for the name, so it’s wise to stick to a few trustworthy signatures: focaccia di Sofia (that’s the one filled with secret ingredients), rigatoni alla bolognese with rich, house-made meat sauce and anything with truffles, which the menu, fortunately, has in abundance. Wine might be the thing you order with dinner, but don’t sleep on the Italian-inspired cocktails created by local mixologists the Cocktail Cartel. By any means don’t leave the restaurant without paying a visit to the restrooms plastered in celebrity eye candy: David Beckham for the ladies and Jennifer Lopez for the men. Selfies are encouraged.
