The name of this casual Mexican spot, in the heart of Brickell, is a nod to owner Derek Gonzalez’s Aunt Pilo—she would be proud of his inventive tacos with their funky combinations, like El Sirenito, made with tuna carnitas, or the smoked mahi-mahi El Brody. Crush your hangover with an order of El Canijo (stuffed with chorizo, brisket and chicharrones) or, if it’s the weekend, help yourself to the “Chillakillers”—a mighty serving of totopos, topped with your choice of sauce, protein and a fried egg.
