The inside of this Design District newcomer is as warm and woody as the name indicates, with banquettes and communal tables made from reclaimed wood (though the moniker comes from the gigantic oak tree in the restaurant’s patio area). The menu is comfort food with an upscale twist; devilled eggs are topped with paddlefish caviar, and crispy pig’s ears are served with kale, pimento and fried egg. Being a sister restaurant to River Oyster Bar means there’s plenty of seafood on offer as well.
