Consider this Mexican restaurant where drinking and dancing are as much a part of the dining experience as the food. Mayami (which, if you couldn’t tell, is the phonetic spelling for Miami) draws from Tulum for its vibes and Mayan culture for its architecture, rendering a party-like atmosphere within a space you might expect to find at Epcot. The menu is a progressive take on the classics. Starters feature a guacamole and elote combo you’ll want to order with a side of chicharrón, if for no other reason than to snap a photo. It is huge. The queso fundido with truffles is also great to kick off the evening. Tacos are tasty but small and sold individually so make sure to double up on the varieties you think you might not want to share. Mayami’s cocktail menu boldly goes beyond traditional margaritas to include funkier concoctions, but there’s plenty to choose from behind the bar should you want to customize your drink order.
