The fourth outpost of Eyal Shani’s clubby Israeli restaurant—with locations in Tel Aviv, New York City and Ibiza—serves an expansive Mediterranean menu with a focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients. Think big, bright salads, lean kebabs and grilled fish. Some of the food is light (no one likes to dance on chairs on an empty stomach) while other dishes offer stick-to-your-rib indulgences and are worth considering, like the giant baked potato with a mound of caviar and the "one 12 foot long Pici noodle. with sage,"—which is just one example of the amusing dish names. HaSalon offers reservations at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you choose the earlier seating, you'll need to leave your table by 8:30pm (no lingering around). The later time can stick around and enjoy the party, which gets underway just after 10pm.
