Caribbean cuisine was glaringly absent from the Wynwood restaurant scene, but Dukunoo endeavors to fill the void. A family-owned Jamaican kitchen helmed by a father, mother and their daughter, it puts out modernized versions of classic island dishes. There’s the compulsory jerk, which gets its own section of the menu titled the “Jerk stand,” featuring all kinds of iterations and combinations. Whole snappers, stews and curries round out the offerings. If you’re wondering what Dukunoo is, you’ll find it as the namesake dessert under ’sweet tings,’ a sweet potato confection finished off with cinnamon cream.
