This Allapattah cafe puts people first, working directly with farmers from around the world to source their specialty coffee and taking measures to ensure profits go back to producers. The roasting process, however, does take place locally as beans are processed nearby and brought back to the cool, pastel-hued space. While still ahead of its time for the fringe neighborhood, Deco lures coffee lovers with its frothy cappuccinos and cool latte art swirled into dairy and alternative kinds of milk (almond, soy, oat). Both the drinks and food offerings are extensive, ranging from caffeine to alcohol and breakfast fare to hearty lunch options. If there was ever a place to pair an oat-milk latte with a juicy lamb burger, Deco is it.
