Few bagel shops are as emblematic of New York's culinary leanings as H&H Bagels, the legendary franchise that first opened in Manhattan in 1972 and still operates five retail locations across the city.

In an exciting move, the business launched its first branch outside of New York this fall, in Boca Raton, Florida, and is now preparing to expand further into another market: Miami. In a true show of confidence in the region, H&H plans to open a total of five stores in Miami over the course of this year and next.

The business also announced that it will soon expand into Raleigh-Durham, San Diego and Orange County as well, in addition to previously-confirmed openings in Connecticut, California, Illinois, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C. H&H Bagels is officially going national.

At the new shops, Miamians can expect menus that mimic what's on offer at the original stores, with NYC classics taking center stage, from a traditional bacon, egg and cheese to a Nova salmon "with the works" (for the uninitiated, that would be lox, cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions).

Specialty sandwiches will be available as well: the avocado deluxe is prepared with tomato, cucumbers, everything seeds and mayo while the horseradish roast beef features top-round roast beef, Swiss cheese, pickled onion and horseradish aioli. Our suggestion? Try them all.

When the preeminent purveyor of New York bagels comes to this side of the country, there is only one thing to do: run, don't walk, to the new stores... and order every version of a sandwich that your stomach can handle.
