After months of exclusively shopping online, getting out to a bricks-and-mortar feels good. What could make the feeling better? Safely browsing the racks at curated concept store The Shop in Pop Up Shop, which reopens for business on Friday, June 19.
Co-owned by NBA pros Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul and celebrity stylist Calyann Barnett, the Wynwood store opened last winter with an array of clothing from the likes of Public School, housewares from lifestyle brand Maison 24 and accessories by Miami-based Monisha Melwani among an exciting roster of well-known labels and independent designers. It was a one-stop-shop for holiday gifts and then come Super Bowl time, an easy pit-stop shop for souvenirs you’ll feel proud to share with the folks back home.
Now the black-owned, female-founded fashion emporium is ready to welcome back shoppers IRL with a fresh selection of sought-after brands that were hand-picked by Barnett, such as Renowned LA, Muehleder and Z Malan. Plus, Friday’s relaunch kicks off with a festive cookout in honor of Juneteenth featuring bites by neighboring Sparky’s Jerk Cuisine. The party starts at noon and everyone is welcome.
We don’t know about your online shopping experience, but ours never included eating bomb chicken or browsing fashion selected by a stylist. We’re ready for the upgrade.
