From barges cruising down the Seine to ports of call in Shanghai and Tokyo to its first interactive experience in Jungle Plaza, Louis Vuitton Men’s whimsical creation makes its way to the Miami Design District this week. The Adventures of Zoooom with friends, artistic director Virgil Abloh’s playful answer to a season without traditional fashion shows, brings together a colorful cast of characters for an augmented reality experience set to debut on December 4 as part of Miami Art Week.
Larger-than-life inflatable characters will take over the outdoor courtyard, set atop LV-branded shipping containers and showcasing elements of the menswear’s 2020-21 Spring-Summer collection. LV Men’s temporary residency will be open to the public and promises interactive fun while also following social distancing practices. Folks will need to make an appointment before entering the dream-like world of LV. It may not look like much before you enter but, once inside, QR codes will activate filters and virtual animations users can interact with and document to share across their social chances. Visits will be timed and bookable on the spot via QR stations just outside the installation.
Louis Vuitton Men’s temporary residency in the Miami Design District coincides with Miami Art Week and the brand’s annual presence at the show with Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades—a collection of travel-inspired furniture and objects made with internationally renowned designers. And like some of the best things to come out of Miami Art Week, The Adventures of Zoooom with friends is sticking around longer. See it in person through January 2021 and give your Instagram feed a much-needed creative refresh.
