Think downtown chic and pink deck chairs.

New York hotel royalty is making a South Florida move, bringing a Manhattan sensibility to West Palm Beach.
The team behind Hotel Chelsea, The Bowery Hotel and The Mercer will open The Nora Hotel, a new 201-room luxury property, on October 19. Located at 1135 N. Railroad Ave., The Nora is the first major project outside NYC from hotelier Sean MacPherson and BD Hotels. The property is part of the emerging Nora District, putting guests within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and fitness studios.

And while the hotel's pedigree is very New York, the design aims for something more Floridian. New York-based GACHOT, the studio behind Detroit's Shinola Hotel and other high-design hospitality projects, drew inspiration from Palm Beach's Spanish Colonial Revival and early 20th-century Mediterranean architecture for a combination of bright exteriors and moodier interiors, plus plenty of pecky cypress, custom furniture and antiques.
In other words: Palm Beach, but probably with better martinis.
Those martinis can be found at Jack's Bar, which channels the retro, mid-century glamour of John F. Kennedy and Camelot. Downstairs, the New York-born French brasserie Pastis will serve its familiar Parisian-inspired menu in a new West Palm Beach setting. James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr's STARR Restaurants oversees both concepts.
Upstairs, guests can enjoy Lillys, a new rooftop concept from Mama Hospitality (Mary Lou's) that combines a restaurant, cocktail lounge and pool deck. The rooftop is divided into Lillys Pool, Br Lilly and Cafe Lilly, with live music, special events and programming spanning food, fashion, art and culture.
The hotel will also house Florida's first Sisley Spa. The 4,000-square-foot wellness space features four treatment rooms, steam rooms, locker rooms, an outdoor terrace and treatments including massages, facials and body scrubs using Sisley Paris products.
The 201 guest rooms include accessible rooms, one-bedroom suites and an executive suite. There's also a rooftop pool surrounded by pink lounge chairs, cabanas, umbrellas and palm trees. After all, if you're opening a hotel in West Palm Beach, why not lean into the aesthetic?
A member of Leading Hotels of the World, The Nora is now available to book for October, starting at $395 per night. For reservations and more information, click here.
