Just in time for summer, The Shelborne by Proper is making waves—literally. Starting May 1, the newly reimagined Art Deco hotel on Miami Beach, fresh off a $100 million renovation, will unveil Beach Club by Proper, a members-only oasis that combines sun-soaked relaxation with upscale amenities and a strong focus on wellness. Think front-row beach beds, DJ sets, green juice and a racquet in hand, all in a single day.
“With The Shelborne by Proper, we’re breathing fresh life into a Miami icon,” said Brian De Lowe, co-founder and president of Proper Hospitality, in an official statement. “[We’re] pairing timeless design with a contemporary spirit that builds community through art, dining, and wellness.”
Like De Lowe implies, the new Beach Club isn’t your average towel-and-umbrella setup. Members of Beach Club by Proper can expect daily access to reserved loungers and umbrellas on the sand, full food and beverage service, and entry to the hotel’s iconic pool scene, complete with private cabanas and a playful nod to nostalgia via its historic diving board.
Wellness is at the core of the offering, with 24/7 access to a sleek, state-of-the-art fitness studio, more than 20 weekly wellness and fitness classes, private training options and complimentary monthly sessions at buzzy local studios. There’s also a robust racquet program, plus the hotel’s Proper Presents series featuring curated cultural talks, wellness panels and sunset sound baths.
It’s not all self-optimization, though. The club also plans to deliver on the fun with weekly live music and DJ sets, family-friendly barbecues, monthly breakfasts and quarterly dinners. With stylish co-working spaces, priority cabana bookings and exclusive perks throughout the hotel and city, the Beach Club aims to blend leisure, productivity and access for its members.
A founding member waitlist opens next week—because who doesn’t want to call golden hour cocktails and beachfront yoga their new daily routine?
