It’s shocking it took this long but the Museum of Ice Cream—the millennial sensation that’s not really a museum as much as it is a sensory overload of colors, shapes and sprinkles that offer guests a countless array of Instagram opportunities—is coming to Miami.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 15, at 11am for American Express Platinum Card Members, and for all American Express Card Members on Thursday, November 16. Everyone else will have to wait until 11am on Friday, November 17, to get tickets at museumoficecream.com.

Miami’s museum opens in the Faena District (3400 Collins Ave) in Miami Beach on December 13 and runs through January 31. The Museum will be open Wednesday through Monday, though hours haven’t been announced yet. Tickets cost $38.

The Museum of Ice Cream has already opened in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco to massive success, huge lines and the confused looks of those who, well, just don't really get the point. It is a bit hard to explain. It's certainly not a museum devoted to the history of ice cream. It's more like a playground for the social media generation. Again: a bit hard to explain.

There aren’t many specific details about the interior of Miami’s Museum of Ice Cream available yet, but if it’s anything like L.A.’s, we can expect a pool full of sprinkles, bright pink colors and other art installations almost exclusively designed for taking selfies.

Remind us again why it took so long to get to Miami?

UPDATE: Here’s what happened during our trip to the Museum of Ice Cream.
