Laser Fridays at the Frost Planetarium
Kick back in Frost Science’s massive Planetarium for its biweekly retro classic laser shows (on the first and third Friday of each month), featuring a new set of artists each week. Tonight’s showcase includes an ’80s-themed assortment (7pm), Queen (10pm) and Bob Marley (11pm), among others.

Super Beach Poolside Party at Seminole Hard Rock
Get a head start on Sunday’s tailgate celebration with an absolutely free poolside party at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel. New World Symphony: “New Work”
NWS artistic director Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) leads this special program dedicated to new performances. The evening includes Miami in Movements, a multisensory ode to the city and culmination of Project 305; Glimpse of the Big Picture, featuring three world premieres by MTT; and the Inherent Sadness of Low-Lying Areas, a short play with excerpts of musical works that span across centuries.

Miami Beach Jewelry & Watch Show
The mother of all antique shows descends on Downtown this weekend, bringing more than 100 renowned international dealers such as Yafa Signed Jewelry, Chase and Robert Maron. Among the coveted assortment of estate jewelry, luxury handbags and fine watches for sale are several hot-ticket items collectors should keep an eye on, including signed Harry Winston platinum earrings from the 1960s and a Rolex Daytona. The event takes place through Sunday at One Herald Plaza.

His son, Michael, an atheistic scholar of Judaism, has just written a controversial book on why Jews should forget the Shoah—which inspires one of several incendiary conflicts.
