Miami Spice is like the restaurant week of every other major city in the country, only ours is extra and goes on for months. Usually, the countywide specials—$23 for lunch and $39 dinner, both three courses—happen over August and September. But this year, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), which puts on the program, kicking things off in July. Another difference? For the first time ever, restaurants are offering their Miami Spice menus to-go. If there’s ever been a time to save a few dollars and eat out, this is it. Below, some of the best Miami Spice specials you can pick up or get delivered.
Azabu
Short of sending you home with an itamae, the South of Fifth restaurant lays out a four-course meal complete with optional sake and Japanese whiskey pairings that will make you feel as though you’re dining in. Choose from popular menu items such as wagyu gyozas and braised black cod, and round out the experience with flights of sake ($26) or whiskey ($35), each featuring three seasonal selections. Dinner is available for takeout or for delivery via Uber Eats, GrubHub and Postmates.
Jaguar Restaurant
Be it for brunch, lunch or dinner, get your fill of Latin-inspired dishes at Jaguar. It’s one of the most varied menus on the list and runs the gamut from tiradito and fish tacos to chilaquiles and churrasco. The Coconut Grove spot also serves its Miami Spice menu for brunch all weekend long from 11am to 3pm. Looking to make it boozy? Add a bottle of red, white or sparkling wine for $25 to your delivery or takeout order.
Sushi Garage
For a Japanese experience that goes beyond only sushi, check out Sushi Garage. The Sunset Harbour restaurant’s Spice menu includes the option for a hamachi jalapeño crudo, salmon shioyaki and beef tenderloin teriyaki, among other dishes. Dinner can be picked up or delivered Tuesday through Sunday.
Juvia
While you can’t bring home Juvia’s awe-inspiring views, you can recreate the dining experience in the comfort of your own home. The Miami Spice meal takes a Mediterranean turn with options like Greek salad, branzino and a lamb shank. For dessert, take your taste buds to France with the fancy vanilla choux puff. Juvia offers pick-up and delivery within a designated range.
Cafe Prima Pasta
This Miami Beach mainstay is keeping up with the times and allowing customers to bring home its heaping portions of pasta. The Miami Spice doesn’t skimp on ingredients either, offering lobster ravioli, filet mignon carpaccio and other premium dishes as part of its special.
Villa Azur
Its rowdy, supper club nights are on hold but you can still get a taste of the French Riviera at home. Villa Azur’s elegant spread can be ordered for takeout and includes options like a truffle warm vegetable salad, seared bass and a decadent dark chocolate tart.
Bulla Gastrobar
Enjoy a tapas-style dinner at home when you opt for Miami Spice lunch or dinner at Spanish hot spot Bulla. You’ll get three courses of classic Iberian dishes such as curry shrimp and montaditos (mini sandwiches), Morrocan-style lamb and more. Both menus are available for takeout except for the huevos bulla starter, which can only be ordered for dine-in service outdoors.
Toscana Divino
Get your Miami Spice fix in the middle of the day courtesy of Toscana Divino. Available weekdays starting at noon, the Brickell restaurant delivers dishes such as risotto primavera, a composed salad of red shrimp and avocado and pappardelle finocchiona with loads of white sausage and creamy pecorino. Play your favorite Italian diddy and make-believe you’re exploring the boot.
Tanuki
Bento boxes were practically made for takeout—perfectly portioned meals complete with a starter, a main and a dessert. Pick from hot and cold items to assemble your perfect to-go meal and enjoy free delivery when you order directly on the Tanuki website. Use code "first" for 10-percent off your first order and "second" for 15-percent off your second order.
La Placita
Bring home a Puerto Rican spread of fried cheese, chicharrones, ropa vieja and, of course, mofongo. The MiMo restaurant’s Miami Spice menus are packed with its fan-favorite dishes and, for the first time, both lunch and dinner are available to enjoy at home. Call up the restaurant for takeout (305-400-8173) or order delivery via UberEats.
Bellini
The Italian restaurant atop Mr. C in Coconut Grove packs up its most popular dishes for both lunch and diner. Choose from a wide selection of starters and mains to create your perfect feast—from a charcuterie board to start to pasta and chicken and potatoes for an entrée. Some items have a $5 or $10 upcharge but you can stick to the Miami Spice pricing and still be completely satisfied. Both takeout and delivery are available.
Diya
Recently opened in the South of Fifth neighborhood, Diya is making a name for itself with delicious, high-quality food at affordable prices. Case in point: its Miami Spice menu, which is available for takeout, that includes all kinds of Indian specialties—from roasted eggplant Barta and Malai kofta with fried potatoes in a curry cashew cause to Ras Malai tres leches, soaked in a rich cardamom cream sauce.
Casa D’Angelo Aventura
Get your scaloppini veal medallions, yellowtail snapper and more of Casa D’Angelo’s Italian specialties as part of this year’s Miami Spice offerings. The three-course menus are available for pick-up or delivery daily from 2pm to 9:30pm. Pro tip: Order on Wednesday and score half-priced bottles of select wines to enjoy with your meal.
Barbarella
The Dadeland restaurant (helmed by the same husband-and-wife team behind 33 Kitchen at Time Out Market Miami) debuts a $25 Miami Spice lunch. It’s a three-course special that includes signature dishes such as the deviled eggs topped with house-made bacon and the creamy pasta bolognese. Get the deal daily from noon to 3pm, both for curbside pickup and delivery via the major apps.
